Well if you take out a new contract at Carphone Warehouse before the 6th of January then you’re guaranteed your new phone and your new Nintendo Wii before Christmas.

But aren’t contract the contract phones super expensive?

Well let’s see, time for a breakdown…

So this Carphone Warehouse offer above will cost you £35 a month for an 18 month contract.

That makes a grand total of £630 for the duration of your contract.

Currently the Sony Ericsson W580i can be bought SIM free for £209.95 at Amazon.

The best price you can get the Wii Console in stock is currently £289.37 including postage at Amazon Marketplace.

Leaving us a combined current market value of £579.32 for the Wii Console and the W580i.

Subtract this amount from the £630 contract cost and you’re left with £50.68.

But if you’re asking me… I was lucky to get a Nintendo Wii delivered on Christmas Eve last year and it really made for a manic, fun filled few days with family and friends all eager to take each other on at Boxing, Tennis and Bowling. Mostly boxing though!

I must have played it with 4 different generations over the Christmas holidays and everyone without fail had a great laugh on it. So a definite thumbs up from me.

So is this an overpriced way of getting a Wii? Well, if you only want a Wii console and don’t want a new mobile then yes this isn’t the best deal for you.

But if you wouldn’t mind a really decent mobile phone for yourself or as a gift and you factor in how much the phone is worth, how much a Wii currently costs and how much your usual monthly tariff would set you back for the next 18 months then it’s hard to see this as anything other than a really good deal if you’re dying to get your hands on a Wii in time for Christmas.

The other good thing is you’re not paying the £630 total cost in one go now.

Unlike buying a Wii Console in the usual way you’ll only have to pay £35 a month this way plus you’ll be getting £22.50 back in SaveSpy cashback too.
